About Penzance

Penzance nestles at the heart of Mount’s Bay on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, a bay that not only embraces Mousehole, St Michael’s Mount, Porthcurno and Land’s End, but is a place of pirates and mermaids. This then is Poldark country, a gateway to the natural beauty of West Cornwall whose breathtaking sandy beaches are surrounded by subtropical gardens.

The most southerly seaside town on the Land’s End peninsula, Penzance makes a perfect base for visiting the small villages and coves on both north and south coasts, with easy transport by rail or bus available. The town itself retains a salty charm and is furnished with restaurants, cafés and bars to suit a wide variety of tastes and palates. There is still much of its old historic character to be discovered, you can stroll down the Victorian promenade;follow in the footsteps of Sir Humphry Davy, or take a dip in the world renowned Jubilee Pool.
